The story behind Mobile Paws...

Hi, my name is Chelsea and I am the owner of Mobile Paws. I am a qualified veterinary nurse who began my vet nurse journey in 2015. My partner and myself live in the beautiful country town of Yass with our 2 Kelpies - Emma & Diesel and I am also a local dressage rider who competes at FEI level dressage.

I created Mobile Paws to help those in my local community who may struggle to get to the vet for the little things and for the pets who dislike travelling or being at the vet. Being at the vet can be a very daunting experience for many pets and their owners. This can be due to the different smells, sounds and that fact that a lot of bad things happen at the vet for both pets and their owners. Whether its saying goodbye to your much loved family member or for some pets its as simple as having a nail clip.

Mobile Paws is here to provide a stress free service for these pets by visiting them in the comfort of their own home. Growing up, I had a Great Dane who disliked the vet. This was due to 2 things - he hated other dogs and he only went to the vet when something was wrong. It is so important to desensitize the vet clinic for our pets so they can learn that the vet isn't always a bad place.

Working at a vet clinic we see so many pets who hate us!

They hate other animals and they always come in for the same thing which they hate.

Nail clips and ear cleaning are the two biggest things I find that dogs especially get anxious and fearful from. Here is a list of some of the services I will be offering;

  • Nail clips

  • Ear cleaning

  • Administration of medications

  • Post operative checks

  • Weight/ Nutritional consults

  • Dental assessments

Along with running Mobile Paws, I also work at Brudine Veterinary Hospital in Charnwood ACT. This is where I grew my passion for vet nursing and helping animals. I have gained experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guniea pigs and lizards.

I have many courses and certificates under my belt including;

  • Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing

  • Equine first aid

  • Certificate of advanced in-patient care

  • Australian Veterinary Behavior Services Puppy Preschool workshop

  • Hills Nutritional Advocate course

  • Adaptil & Feliway Course (Fear Free Handling)
